Handheld radio for site communication, with versions for classified areas. JJ Projects sources it to the specification the buyer names. Typical reference, band: VHF or UHF, per the site's radio licence.
Specification references
Typical references only. The governing specification is the one on your purchase order or datasheet.
| Property | Typical reference |

Typical uses
- 01Voice communication across plants, construction sites and shutdown crews
- 02Safety and operations teams on large or noisy sites
- 03Classified areas, using intrinsically safe models rated for the area
- 04Coverage with repeaters on sites where handheld range is short
What to include in a request
A request with these details can be quoted without a round of questions. Send what you have and we will ask for the rest.
- 01Band: VHF or UHF, and the frequencies or channels the site radio licence allows
- 02Analog or digital, such as DMR, and whether it must work with radios already on site
- 03Power output and number of channels, and display or keypad needs
- 04Certification for the area, for example intrinsically safe under ATEX, IECEx or NEC, with the certificate required
- 05Battery type and capacity, chargers and how many spare batteries
- 06Accessories: antennas, speaker microphones, headsets, holsters and belt clips
- 07Quantity, and whether programming to the site channel plan is needed

Questions
Questions
01Do I need a radio licence?
In many countries, radio use on specific frequencies needs a licence or authorization from the local regulator. Your site or company normally holds it. Give us the frequencies and band so the radios match what is authorized.
02What does intrinsically safe mean?
An intrinsically safe radio is designed to limit the electrical and thermal energy so that it cannot ignite a flammable atmosphere. It is certified for a defined area class and gas group, so state yours. Do not use ordinary radios in classified areas.
03Can new radios work with the ones we already have?
Only if band, modulation and any digital protocol or encryption match. State the make, model and settings of the existing fleet so compatible radios are quoted.
Send the specification. We will take it from there.
