2. Grade, commonly ASTM A36, and the general requirements specification such as ASTM A6/A6M
3. Length per piece, and whether stock lengths or cut-to-size pieces are wanted

## Questions

### What is the difference between a C channel and an MC channel?

Both are American rolled channels. The C (American standard) channel has tapered flanges, while the MC (miscellaneous) channel is a separate series with different proportions. The designation on your drawing tells which one is meant.

### Is a UPN channel the same as a C channel?

No. UPN is a European series with sloped inner flanges, named by depth in millimeters, and its dimensions differ from the American C series. Do not substitute one for the other without the engineer's approval.

### Can channel be supplied drilled or cut to length?

Yes. Send the cutting and drilling details with the designation and quantity so they are priced and checked with the material.
